A woman who disconnected the smoke detectors in a relative's house and then deliberately set it on fire is claiming that it would violate her constitutional rights not to allow her to continue working as a firefighter.
In her appeal, Mary Wolski claims that the Erie, Pa. fire department's decision to terminate her just because of the arson incident not only was unconstitutional but also "lacks substantial evidence" and was "capricious, arbitrary, unreasonable and void."
